Privacy Policy
What data the app handles
The app stores the following locally on your device, and never anywhere else:
- The accounts you create and their balances
- The transactions (income and expenses) you log
- The categories and budgets you set up
- The recurring expense automations you define
None of this data leaves your phone. There is no server, no cloud database, and no user account tied to this app.
Shared groups (optional)
If you turn on the groups feature to share expenses with your partner or family, that specific information (only the group's, not the rest of your wallet) syncs in encrypted form between the group members you invite. You can use Kontari fully without ever turning this on.
This website's forms
This is separate from the app's data: when you enter your email on the waitlist, or fill out the contact form on kontari.online, that text is sent through Formspree, an external service that forwards the message to our inbox. It's only used to reply to you or notify you about launch — never for advertising or to sell it to anyone.
What we DON'T do
- We don't collect personal identification data
- We don't use analytics or usage tracking
- We don't show ads
- We never sell your information to third parties, under any circumstance
- We don't access your real bank accounts; all information is entered manually by you
Biometric lock
If you turn on Face ID or fingerprint lock, verification is handled directly by your phone's operating system. Kontari never stores or has access to your biometric data.
Deleting your data
You can delete all app data at any time from Settings → "Delete all," or by uninstalling the app from your device. When you do, the information disappears permanently, since no copy exists outside your phone (except, where applicable, shared groups that remain active for other members).
Changes to this policy
If the app adds any new feature in the future that involves sending data to a server, this policy will be updated before that feature is turned on, and your explicit consent will be requested.
